The SMAD-P5 Multi Interface Shoe (MI Shoe) adapter enables wireless connection of the URX-40 audio receiver with compatible SONY cameras or mirrorless cameras.
The compact SMAD-P5 is a digital multiple interface (MI) adapter that enables mounting of the URX-P40 series UWP-D receiver on selected Sony camcorders and cameras equipped with a digital multiple interface adapter. The adapter eliminates the need for cable connections, speeding up field deployment.
The SMAD-P5 provides a direct digital audio link between the URX-P40 receiver and camera, bypassing both the receiver's D/A conversion and the camera's A/D conversion, achieving excellent 24-bit sound quality and low noise. As the camera is equipped with an analog MI Shoe socket, the adapter can be switched to an analog audio connection.
The adapter also offers seamless integration with the Sony a7R IV mirrorless camera and XDCAM PXW-Z280/PXW-Z190 camcorders and displays microphone information on the camera's viewfinder, including RF level, mute status and transmitter low battery warning.
In addition, the SMAD-P5 allows the receiver to be powered from the camera, and the camera can synchronize power on/off with the receiver to unify power management
